Marine Transportation and Management Engineering

This program incorporates the Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) conventions specified in the Regulation on Seafarers and Pilot Captains by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Turkey, covering the AII/1 and AII/2 curriculum programs.

The program provides training in the conditions required for Distant Voyage Watch Officer / Long Voyage Captain, which is high in demand in the national and international maritime sector. The program, conducted entirely in English and with a uniform, integrates four years of theoretical, practical, and laboratory education. During the summer sessions of the 1st and 2nd years, students undergo threemonth opensea internships, and in the spring semester of the 3rd year, they have a sixmonth opensea internship.

Upon graduating with the title of Marine Transportation and Management Engineer, students can begin their maritime careers as "Distant Voyage Watch Officers" after successfully completing the competency exams organized by the General Directorate of Maritime Affairs Seafarers Exam Center (GASM). Depending on their work experience, they can upgrade their licenses to become "Long Voyage Captains."
