ITU-TRNC Education Research Campuses started a donation campaign in order to contribute to the Olive Branch Operation of Turkish Military Forces at Afrin with the slogan “ITU North Cyprus Family is One Heart with its State and Military”.

 

During the press conference on January 29th, 2018, Monday at ITU North Cyprus Continuing Education Center, ITU-TRNC Education Research Campuses Rector Prof. Dr. Ercan KAHYA said that the ITU North Cyprus academic and administrative personnel have decided to donate a part of their salaries to the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation between February – July 2018.

 

Rector KAHYA said “We have started this campaign to get rid of the problem of terrorism, to contribute to the Olive Branch Operation of the Turkish Military Forces at Afrin and to support state and military solidarity.” KAHYA also wished that this campaign becomes an example to other establishments and institutions at the TRNC, Turkey and all around Turkish World. He went on to say; “Our united and strong stance is giving a strong message both nationally and internationally. Our support campaign is also important in showing the Turkish Cypriots’ true feelings towards the Turkish Republic’s actions in Syria.

 

At the end of his speech KAHYA emphasized that the Turkish nation is and will be in solidarity with its army during this difficult period. He went on to thank and present the donation file to the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation Press, Promotion and Public Relations Department Manager Kemal KARABABA.

 

The Turkish Armed Forces Foundation Press, Promotion and Public Relations Department Manager Kemal KARABABA thanked Prof. Dr. Ercan KAHYA and the ITU North Cyprus family for this significant campaign and gave a presentation about the foundation. KARABABA also mentioned that the bank account information of the foundation for donations are on the foundation’s website.
