“Creating an Innovative and Creative Climate with R&D” Panel was organized by ITU Alumni Association Cyprus (İTÜ-MEDEK) as part of the 4th Bee Days on April 26, 2019 at Turkish Cypriot Chamber of Commerce.
After the opening speech of the Association President Hilmi KANSU, ITU Alumni Associations Platform President Bülend TEMURT, MP and Main Opposition Party President Ersin TATAR, MP Gülşah MANAVOĞLU; MP Fikri TOROS and ITU-TRNC Rector Porf. Dr. Ercan KAHYA gave a speech and emphasized the importance of R&D and Teknokent laws for the development of the country.
After these speeches, ITU Arı Teknokent General Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Deniz TUNÇALP gave his presentation and provided information about the operation of Arı Teknokent. TUNÇALP emphasized that only government support is not enough to increase our capacity to compete and to keep up with the changing and digitalized world. He underlined the necessity of creating educated manpower on the island.
The event, which ended with Q & A session, contributed to increasing awareness about R&D and Techno city.
