TRNC Prime Minister Tufan ERHÜRMAN visited “ITU Çekirdek Incubator Center” on November 27th, 2018 on Tuesday which is an entrepreneurship platform operating in Istanbul Technical University.
During the visit, a presentation about ITU Çekirdek and its activities was made to Prime Minister ERHÜRMAN and the accompanying committee. ERHÜRMAN mentioned that there are thoughts about establishing a center like this in the TRNC and expressed his pleasure from the visit. ITU Çekirdek Incubator Center authorities said that they are ready to offer any necessary help.
The Minister of Economy and Energy Özdil NAMİ visited Istanbul Technical University and met with ITU’s Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARACA at Istanbul Campus Vodafone Future Lab. NAMİ mentioned the importance that TRNC’s universities have for the economy of the country and emphasized that they are expecting initiatives from universities in the field of technology and innovation.
ITU’s Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet KARACA said that the Incubator center is first in Turkey and third in the world and the success of ITU’s Teknokent is being followed by the whole world.
Rector Karaca went on to explain that they are the sole university in Turkey that is working on energy in thematic “technocities” and pointed out that it is among their plans to bring the accumulated information on this topic to the TRNC. He then proceeded to invite Minister Nami to the “Big Bang Challenge” organized by the university students and young entrepreneurs to evaluate the start up innovation project.
During the visit of ITU’s Campuses, presentations about “Vodafone loT Platform Energy Solution” and “Energy Productivity and Compensation Management” were held for the Minister of Economy and Energy Özdil NAMİ. Following the presentations, the committee made a visit to “ITU Vodafone Future Lab” and shared information about recently developed solutions.
