ITU Alumni Tukish Music Concert was held on 14th of November, 2016, Monday evening at Rauf Raif Denktaş Culture and Congress Center with the collaboration of ITU Alumni Association – Cyprus and ITU North Cyprus, and with the support of Famagusta Municipality and Yunus Emre Institute.

 

The concert was organized on the occasion of 33rd anniversary of Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and was presented by Classical Turkish Music Singer Cem KAFKAS. The concert, which started with the opening speech of ITU North Cyprus Advisor to the Rector, Assist. Prof. Dr. Aslı ÇEKMİŞ and was followed by the speech of one of the founders of ITU Alumni Turkish Music Association, Assist. Prof. Dr. Osman SİMAV, lasted for an hour.

 

Ahmet Kadri RİZELİ, who is the arranger-musical director, conductor, and kemenche artist in TRT, was the conductor of the orchestra and the chorus. During the concert the chorus and the orchestra have presented unforgettable songs in Hicaz and Nihavend makams. Qanun artist Safinaz RİZELİ, lute artist Ahmet KIRIM, bandir artist Asım EKREN and the chorus of 24 created an amazing evening for the audience.
